A Star Wars Joke

I’m going to tell a short joke. This one is from the series “Tag & Bink Are Dead” first published in 2001. This is not canon, this was never canon, but here we go.

Tag & Bink are the Rosencrantz and Guildenstern of the Star Wars universe. Everything they do accidentally influences the plot of the Star Wars saga. For example during the Battle of Yavin they find themselves serving as wingmen for Lord Vader and due to their poor piloting skills, accidentally bump into his Tie Advanced, causing him to veer off-course. With me so far?

Later on Tatooine the two are on a mission from Mon Mothma. Mothma, has sent them to meet a contact (possibly her boyfriend) Manuel Both-Hanz. Manny is a short human who serves as a rebel agent. Tag & Bink met up with the contact, but were at the time being pursued by the bounty hunter Boba Fett. Boba Fett shot and killed Manny, but Tag & Bink were able to escape with the information that Manny gave to them.

Later, in the Rebel Fleet above Sullust, Mon Mothma is very upset over the fact that her love interest was killed, however she must tell the Rebel High Command what she has learned. She gets up to speak, tears in her eyes, and reports “Manny Both-Hanz died to bring us this information”.

(Pause for laughter)
