151 Aliens! How many do you know?

Happy May the 4th! This year I will celebrate with 151 Alien species from a galaxy far, far away. Why 151? Well, I figured if Pokemon fans can memorize the 151 dex entries from the first generation of Pokemon, Star Wars fans should know at least 151 species.

Also- I listen to a lot of Star Wars audio books and when a species is mentioned, it’s hard to look it up on the fly, especially since I’m usually driving at the time. Therefore, getting to know these basic Star Wars species has been to my benefit- and it can be to your benefit as well!

All of the following aliens are sentient species (unlike Star Wars “creatures”). Not all these species are canon (see Bothan or Yuuzhan Vong) but most are. There are a lot of aliens left off this list for various reasons. There are also many species from the recent films that we do not yet have names for. But I think these 151 species are a good start for anyone who wishes to have a general knowledge of what types of faces you might meet while venturing into the vast amounts of Star Wars media available to us.
